The SL 590 is designed for heavy-duty industrial applications where the gate is up to 90 feet long weighing as much as 2500 pounds and handling up to 25 cycles per hour. This gate operator has been built to deliver years of dependable performance by utilizing a high starting torque motor, with built-in overload protection, driven limit switches and a solenoid activated brake. This configuration reduces wear and tear on the operator as well as the gate.

The rugged design of the SL 590 includes the use of a heavy-duty wormgear-in-oil-bath reducer, a NEMA 12 oil tight, weatherproof, lockable enclosure and a delay on reverse feature ot reduce shocking the motor. All of your preventative maintenance and service needs have been simplified by SENTEX SYSTEMS' attention to detail. We have incorporated a seperate removable enclosure, inside the main enclosure, for the electrical controls and a power train disconnect for manual operation.

To minimize risk associated with gate installations we have implemented the required guidelines of UL325. The updated Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 325 listing covers many areas of the gate installation. Most of the guidelines are focused on obstruction sensing and how the system reacts to an obstruction. SENTEX SYSTEMS' SL 590 has inherent obstruction sensing that utilizes a Hall Effect sensor to monitor the rotational speed of the drive system during opening and closing. If an obstruction is sensed the operator will stop and then back up, by a pre-determined distance, releasing pressure ont he obstruction. This is just one of the many ways that the SL 590 provides you with maximum protection.
